Clicking the Save 
button in either the File Menu or Quick Access Toolbar saves the active drawing with its current file name, view (zoom window), location and file format, if the drawing already existed and it has been modified it will be overwritten.
If it is a new drawing you are prompted via the standard file dialog to save it, specifying the file name and location.
Draft it drawing files are automatically compressed (zipped) to save disk space.
